Henry Roszel was born in Scotland, Oakland Twp., Dec. 22, 1801, and spent most of his life
there. His sun, Hathaway, a millwright by trade, resided for a time in Simcoe. While there he changed
the spelling or his name from ' ee" to "ea' to avoid confusion in mail, with several other Beemer
families living there at the same time. Thus we find all his descendants spelling with "ea," while all
the other progeny of Peter spell with "ee." Hathaway died in 1922, aged 92 years. His son Henry,
formerly of Tillsonburg, and grandson, Chas. A. now lives in Flint, Mich.
